What.
Dalas Verdugo, part of the Vimeo staff sent me this message recently.
“What do you think about this?
‘These videos were filmed by a Calabasas High School student during the 2006-2007 school year as part of his Associated Study Body class. KYOTV is created for the student body and is shown on closed circuit TV to
the school. Therefore, Calabasas High School and *not* the student is the rightful owner of the videos. We do not allow redistribution in any context. To do so would put us in violation of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and California Privacy laws. We expect immediate removal. Thank you, in advance, for taking care of this matter.
Sincerely,
Linda Pierce’
Did you use the school’s equipment to produce the videos? Does this make any sense to you?”
Apparently, the new principal of Calabasas High School is crazy. I’m not the rightful owner to my own creative work?
