I saw The Wrestler tonight—best character piece I’ve seen in a while. Mickey Rourke was brilliant. I definitely think he deserves to win the Oscar. And you can see the maturity in Darren Aronofsky. I don’t know if he’s going to stick to this style of filmmaking, replacing gimmicky camera tricks (which I love) with raw handheld footage (which I love, also), but I wouldn’t be dissapointed if he continued to make films in this style. Go see it.
Honorable Mention: There’s a Persian doctor named Dr. Moayedizadeh in the film. And a wrestler named The Ayatollah. lol.
