As it stands, I would have liked to see an exploration of the love story and longer bank heist scenes. I went into it hoping for things on the scale of the opening scene of The Dark Knight. The movie kind of glossed over what I wanted to see most.

Overall, I think the film had some great action sequences and a lot of suspense. I give it a B.

OK, Three Years of Artest Sounds More Likely

OK, Three Years of Artest Sounds More Likely

Artest says he's signing with Lakers (UPDATE) - CBSSports.com

Artest says he's signing with Lakers (UPDATE) - CBSSports.com:
nbaplayoffs2009:

From the article:

Lakers spokesman John Black declined to comment on Artest’s assertion, but another person with knowledge of the situation corroborated Artest’s account that he will sign with L.A. pending the financial parameters being finalized.

It’s too soon for the Lakers to give up on re signing Trevor Ariza. Also, for as much as I (Douglas Reinhardt) like Ron Artest, I don’t believe he can fit into the Lakers system.

And I may have stated earlier that we had posted our final story about Ariza, but I just have one last thought about Ariza: your stomach is bigger than your mouth. Signing for big money in a place like Houston or Toronto or even Portland puts more pressure on him; he has to deliever and perhaps become the second scoring option on a team where as with the Lakers, Ariza is the fourth scoring option and just needs to play defense and keep on Kobe’s good side.

I was just about to post this. From what I’ve seen, Artest’s twitter has been all over the place. I’m not sure what to believe right now. I’d still love to see Ariza stay, but I’d actually be pretty excited to see Artest on the Lakers. I liked Artest until the playoffs, then hated him, and then started liking him again when he spent all that time in LA after he got eliminated.

I’m not really worried if Artest would fit into the Laker system. We could definitely utilize him as a rebounding and scoring Small Forward. He’d provide the defense we’d be losing in Ariza, and he could put up more points. As for Artest and Kobe, they were friendly at one point.

Either way, I like that we’re making strides to remain the champs in ‘10. Cleveland, Boston, and even San Antonio are certainly trying.

Here’s my favorite quote in the article from Ron Ron:

“”L.A. is what it is,” Artest said. “I’ve been here for the whole summer, and it’s pretty good. It’s good for me. I know Lamar Odom, so that’s pretty cool.”

And while I don’t believe that he’d play in LA for nothing, I think more guys should have that attitude (Ariza). As it stands, Artest has got more fire and passion than Ariza. I actually think Artest would be more beneficial.

According to the LA Times, we’re looking at a 5 year contract. Jesus, I feel like I can’t see him with us for more than one or two. With Artest, things can also go terribly wrong.

But let’s build that dynasty.

Trevor Ariza may leave Lakers

Trevor Ariza may leave Lakers: This is the saddest news I heard today. Ariza should just take the pay cut and stay with the champs. He was on route to becoming one of my favorite players.

This has got to be fake. Advertisement for the show maybe? ...

This has got to be fake. Advertisement for the show maybe? Actually, I think it’s for the energy drink on his head.

Mike Song dancing to the Nintendo Wii Mii Channel Music. Very...

Mike Song dancing to the Nintendo Wii Mii Channel Music. Very creative.

Damn this dog is smart.

Damn this dog is smart.

I came across the Whinnie the Pooh Heffalumps and Woozles video...

I came across the Whinnie the Pooh Heffalumps and Woozles video on YouTube, and I couldn’t help but add more fitting music.

The other night, I saw Whatever Works. Let me start by saying...

The other night, I saw Whatever Works. Let me start by saying that I love Woody Allen and I love Larry David.

So for what I appropriately anticipated, I think the film fell pretty flat. First of all, Larry David’s character is just too much of a misanthrope for me to have any sense of pity for him. His overt disgust with the human race becomes redundant and boring, and his thoughts are filled with the clichés of an edgy first year philosophy student. As for all the other characters, they were way too one dimensional, bending over with ease for the sake of the plot.

And while I agree, Evan Rachel Wood plays her character wonderfully, I just think the character herself is at times a bit too dumb to be real. The whole movie moves a little too fast in the scheme of the characters’ lives but moves too slowly in a couple redundant scenes where Larry David tells us how much he hates everyone and Evan Rachel Wood says something stupid.

It’s still enjoyable to an extent, and don’t get me wrong, you’ll still laugh a couple times. But it just didn’t meet my expectations. Sorry, Woody. I guess it’s hard coming off Vicky Cristina Barcelona—a much better film. But as it stands, this film is pretty much the same thing. Characters visit an unfamiliar geographical location and are changed through love.

I saw Up in 3D tonight. I’m not sure the 3D aspect was...

I saw Up in 3D tonight. I’m not sure the 3D aspect was exactly worth the $15.50 ticket price (damn you, Los Angeles Arclight theaters). I think the most enjoyable thing about watching it in 3D, at least for me, was watching the previews. The preview for G-Force, which doesn’t look that in 2D, looks pretty amazing in 3D. Guinea Pigs are just flying out of the screen and at your face left and right. I’m pretty excited for what the future of 3D cinema will bring. For example, Ryan would point you in the direction of James Cameron’s new Avatar.

Also, I’m sure I’m not the first person to mention this, but the audio coming from the television the old man is watching comes from this viral infomercial. You can hear him saying “Schneider Lens” in the movie.

Misty hiding under my bed.

Misty hiding under my bed.

George Carlin: What’s important to me is that Michael is...

George Carlin: What’s important to me is that Michael is the greatest entertainer who ever lived.
